To CBD or not to CBD

What's all the confusion with CBD? Is it marijuana? Is it legal? Can I buy it? Will I test positive for marijuana if I use CBD?

Having grown up in the age of the educated consumer these are all valid points. And they all point to consumer confusion. Don't be dismayed.

The learning curve is steep with the do's and don'ts of CBD and THC. But here are a few answers that can get you moving towards your goal of purchasing a product that is right for you.

First of all hemp-derived CBD is not marijuana. Hemp plants and marijuana plants are both the same species of Cannabis. Legally, hemp is defined as a cannabis plant that contains 0.3 percent or less THC, while marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3 percent THCCBD can be derived from both hemp and marijuana plants. To be clear you would have to purchase CBD from a marijuana plant at a licensed state dispensary. But Hemp-derived CBD with less than .3 percent of THC is legal to purchase in the U.S online or in a store. ( Mad Hatter CBD has 0 THC)

Most drug tests identify tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or its metabolites produced while your body processes (THC).  Although these tests do not screen for CBD, some CBD products contain low quantities of THC that could theoretically make a person fail a drug test( But that's not an issue with Mad Hatter CBD products as they contain no THC.)

So the next time you are looking for CBD products ask these questions ;

Is the CBD from Hemp or Marijuana?

Is there more than .3 percent THC in the CBD?

Let us know if you have questions, we want happy consumers.
